University of Helsinki, Tampere University, University of Turku, University of Jyväskylä, University of Eastern Finland, Hanken School of Economics, Åbo Akademi University, Aalto University and LUT University launched the JobTeaser service at the end of November 2020. JobTeaser was chosen to convey jobs and internships to students because it also offers many features other than just a job publishing platform.
The service has been in use for five months and now we want to hear opinions from the users. We are currently collecting feedback from Finnish employers on JobTeaser’s operations in order to take steps in the right direction in its development. A short questionnaire will be emailed to everyone who has used JobTeaser. We hope everyone will respond. Your feedback is very valuable to us!
The service is evolving and the number of users is growing
The number of users in Finland has grown at a steady pace. Nearly 28,000 students and alumni from various universities are currently registered in the system. Through the service, 4,400 job and internship advertisements have already been announced to various universities.
Launching and consolidating a new service always takes its own time. When choosing the service the most important feature for universities was that employers retained the opportunity to reach more than one university at the same time. So far, JobTeaser has not offered the option of multiposting to others, so we have actively solved the challenges that have arisen with the new platform type together.
In co-operation with JobTeaser, efforts have been made to develop the service to meet the wishes of Finnish employers and the requirements of the labor market. JobTeaser is used in several European countries such as France, Germany, Belgium, Britain and Sweden. The job search cultures of different countries have their own characteristics that are reflected in the functions of the system. The Finnish translation of the service has been significantly clarified along the way.
Gain visibility as an employer among students
It is increasingly important for companies and organizations to be seen as attractive employers and to build an employer brand among students. There is a competition for experts, and an organization that evokes emotions in the applicant wins. Most job seekers want to get to know the organization before submitting a job application and especially for young people the brand matters! Young people value the workplace’s corporate culture, atmosphere, community spirit and flexibility. JobTeaser offers the opportunity to present your own organization more broadly through a company profile.
The company profile on the JobTeaser job portal serves as your virtual showcase 24/7. The university-specific profile enables e.g. introducing your organization, presenting values and culture, and marketing jobs and internships. Some universities have reserved this opportunity only for their partners and you can find more information on the university website if you are interested. Notice that you will not be able to take advantage of multiposting from your company profile; the company profile will have to be done for each university separately.
