Finding a Job in Finland
The English version of the site focuses on helping foreigners get accustomed to job hunting and finding entry level jobs in Finland. Most of the issues you'll encounter are the same as in other European countries, but please see the other sections to find out what differs.
Some examples:
- Graduates are expected to have professional experience before being hired for more advanced jobs (not just engineers). Select your summer jobs carefully.
- Union membership rates are very high. Academically educated professionals usually belong to a subdivision of AKAVA.
- Short term contracts have become increasingly common, even for professionals.
